    hi there,
i would love to hear any information that any of you might have regarding these magazine lift outs from the 1920's. i understand that a monthly movie magazine came out back in those days and this picture show suppliment was in it and u would take it out and collect them. They were full of pics of scenes from the latest movies and posters of popular actors and actresses with tthe biggest one being the middle page.

someone has collected them each month over an approximate seven years and then opened them up and had them bound. there are two full books of them tho one the pages have been removed.

someone loved the movies and movie stars and then as they got older the books went up into the attic. some of them are over 1oo years old! there are pics and stories of the movie stars of the time and even pics of them with their children and in their homes etc.
i was given them to cut up for paper craft but they are so lovely even tho they show the signs of aging with the lovely petina around the edging, i cant bring myself to cut them up.

have u seen them before? can you shed any light on them or have more information about them? can you give me some suggestions on to how best keep them and try and preserve them better.

    thanks in advance

    laura

      Hi, laurarene68. :-)

      Cool.

Unfortunately, your pictures aren't very clear, but one clue is quite readable: "MILLE. MODISTE." That was a 1926 film with Corrine Griffith:

      https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017101/

Another clue might be the text at the top of the page in your fourth picture, but it's incomplete because of the angle: "SUPPLEMENT TO THE PICT?"

A lot of people from that era had those magazines to fuel their dreams and I knew a few. Must have a lot of pics of Mary Picford and Gloria Swanson and Claudette Colbert. What a treasure that you have here !~

There is an auction in Beverly Hills which have a fair amount of movie star ephemera, I believe its name is Julians Auctions. Maybe contact them as they get a lot of their stuff from the stars themselves or families. They might have an interest but they can let you know.
