This key was found in a cigar box in the garage. Could have been a car that I have pictures of.
I wonder what the stamped number means.
3rd picture, possible candidate?

JW_Mason, Cool.
With regard to the 68 stamp:

How did Ford stamp the key numbers? I have the original key from Grandpa's 1923 and would like to know if it is an 89 or 68? Once i know I can ask for an ignition switch with the proper number.

You'll have to search for that switch tumbler....the reproduction switchs all come with # 55.
Yes, your gramp's key is a #68 .
Ford keys are marked 51 thru 74.

I can't help with this -- yet -- but really hope somebody else speaks up to do so, as I know I have a similar (much more worn) key like this. I'd always guessed it was for a 'model T' sorta car, but have since learned here that those actual cars used something entirely different -- someone else showed one not too long ago, but I can't find it now... <headdesk>

Master Key Set. EXACT reproduction of the Master Key Set that used by Ford dealers.
Consists of four flat keys riveted together with the key numbers stamped in an arc on the face of the keys exactly as original.
Numbers include all, from 51 to 74. They will fit any Ford ignition switch from 1919 through 1927 with the ignition switch on the instrument panel.
