My grandfather graduated high school in 1932 and my great grandparents gave him this car. Does anyone know what kind of car this is? I had always heard Auburn. This picture was taken in front of the family home, where my wife and I live. My great aunt is in the driver's seat and would be 11 years old. That is great grandmother standing in the yard looking on.

      JW_Mason, Cool. :-)

I'm definitely no automobile expert, but here's a similar-looking Auburn:

So, doing the math, your grandfather was probably about five years old when they bought that house in 1919. Have you looked at your printing plate post lately?

No, I wondered if he possibly worked at a local print shop or possibly the Ford dealer here in town. If walls could talk.

      Looks like a 1931 Chrysler 6..

Thank you. A beautiful car. I believe Grandpa ended up at Chrysler for a period of time.

JW_Mason, If your grandfather had indeed worked at a local print shop or Ford dealership, and acquired that print plate through his employer, then it likely was already a 'vintage' item.

dav2no1, Wow, the 1931 Chrysler CM6 was kind of a special animal:

OK, I have some 78s that I would like to clean and play, they were in the 1st house I bought in 1985. I now have a direct drive turntable that will play 78s. Any tips on proper cleaning techniques?
