This piece of furniture caught my eye at an auction. I believe it's a George III mahogany storage ottoman. Intarsia in Robert Adam (1728-1792) style. Brass handles and lid holder. England or Ireland ca. 1785 ? Lid upholstered with regency stripe fabric of black cotton in jacquard weaving. Joseph Marie Jacquard (1752-1834) invented this kind of weaving in 1808, so the upholstery must be a bit younger than the rest. 44 cm x 53 cm x 37 cm. On the sec. photo you can see it in my hall. Maybe you know more about it ?
Careful Putin may try to conquer the Ottoman Empire next
I wouldn't be surprised ...
