I was so pleased to recently add this Loetz cobalt papillon vase to my collection! It is a tall one, at 11-1/2" (29.2cm) and I think the simple Art Deco shape shows off the decor well. Since the Loetz oval mark on the base signifies it was made after 1918, I hoped to find the shape in the PNII pattern book, but didn't see it, so I believe this is a PNIII. If anyone knows the shape number, would they mind letting me know? Thank you!
Very stately!
Thank you, Sammyz! :)
Didn't see it in Series III
Thanks for checking, Warren!
Beautiful, Michelle. The epitome of understated elegance.
Thank you so much Peggy! :)
Beautiful vase, I think the shape design can also be earlier.
Such feet with rounded steps already existed before 1900, but they were not attached. Unfortunately I couldn't find a pattern.
so simple lines and so elegant
Thank you very much, Loetzforever. It was very kind of you to check for me! I will go through the PNII pattern book again; maybe I was not looking early enough.
