Some of you may have recently seen this boudoir lamp up for auction. It looked forlorn and pretty neglected. Many people commented that it appeared to be a poor marriage of disparate components. Upon arrival it was loose, bent out of shape and very dirty. With a little TLC and lots of Q-tips, the finish is in great condition and the shade is sitting properly and right-side up. Both the shade and base are original.

What I ended up with is a very cute cold-painted bronze lamp depicting a red lotus flower and leaves. The PG 6893 shade is not common and was made for this lamp. It does not have a fitter rim like most shades, but instead has a straight shank often found on upright facing oil lamp shades. The finish on the leaves is intact and they are well executed in the manner of several products made for Bakalowits. They commissioned several similar shades, all in PG 6893.

The only negative about this little gem is that it is missing its finial. I suspect that it was either bronze or rubin glass in the shape of a lotus bud. I intend to have one made to complete the lamp and will re-wire also. The shade is 6" x 4" and has 8 ruffles.

Thanks Warren! Of course, the color is much more an intense ruby than the pinkish shown in the pic...
