From the Playing Mantis version of Johnny Lightning in the early 2000s. This is a faithful reproduction of Rich Guasco's Pure Hell Funny Car. I do believe it is based on the 1972 Dodge Demon. Back then you could tell what kind of car it was supposed to be. Also the paint schemes were much better and they weren't billboards for Pampers, Target, Walmart or Burger King. This car is in fact known for one of the best paint schemes for funny cars of that time. And it was fairly impressive. Up close they were scared and stained with smoke but they looked great from the stands. Especially under the lights that had night racing. Night was the time to see these as you could see the flames from the headers.
Tomorrow will be anything goes whatever that means.
Cool...
Great colour scheme
Very cool and the color is awesome!!
They were original paint schemes back in the day.
Now they are boring.
