Still fascinated with the older ceramic wares from Far East during early 20th. Found this recently.

This was sold by the daughter of a couple who resided in Japan for many years, and left a large estate collection of vintage and antique ceramic pieces, all packed in boxes.

My impression is that this piece was produced for the Japanese market's use, an attractive container of some of the traditional Japanese sauce ingredients served with a meal. the inside is stained brown, with age crazing of glaze, and mark unglazed base.

      no problem with this stuff

i am unsure about a lot of thing concerning assessing ,but is a beehive crackle bottom , which can,t be vintage ( lets showa) must be related to late mejji to early showa

we could possible get some endorsement by means of the frotte - stroking +bulbing

personnaly i think it is mingei ( peoples ware ) maybe they got inspired by the flashy but sterile fukagawa studio styling

i don,t see any reason to downgrade, this ( the meanstream high upperlip assessment) its a nice como of a floral , no dilution , it is vivid see stamens

spout is a bit the easy , but frolicsome, no smearing at the spout attachment, but it gives a lot of tendresse, and what more do you , it is not a mass product mould

the japanese are floral buffs , its hard to define the range is very wide from simple honeysuckle and wisteria to very complicated dendromium species
personnaly i think an sort of camelia

and now the shit hits the fan , because it looks like a simple hot pot, but i miss the logic
i think we are still committed to a donabe , but the steaming hole is missing, well thats possible , no sweat because we got a spout
but IMO we need pour off spout or a draining spout , the so called HAISUI

what is an HAISU , thats a spout which you see in karafs = angled pouring spout

and thats a lot a lot of the dynamics , its IMO not a shabu shabu the form is different
so to me it is unknown what the use is( still remeans donabe)

an far fetched idea is , is KIGU , KIGU is not only for decorative purposes , but also for as utilitarian purposes, , lets say a sort of praktical art also ( maybe multifunctional , i think it is just a representation

what,s happening valuewise, well there is no accounting for taste, normally crackle fin de siecle do about 50 dollars

personnaly you ought to be rather satisfied with this stuff, donabes in decorated form are rare
you got value for the simple reason its big and you pay for the sizing( it is big ceramics, stoneware , and i can,t see nothing wrong with

so it is a lot of compensation and it will reasonably

this is the technical question probably

      is this 17. Kyoto-Kiyomizu yaki

and the second question is this mejji

3 question is, you could even be over the moon with your alleged enemies

      lai dao
