Hello everyone!!
Among all of my cast iron still banks is "Oscar The Billy Goat". I've always loved this little goat bank and I especially love the expression on his face. The paint is still really good and there's still slight traces of gold paint remaining on the "OSCAR" lettering. I've searched for a story behind Oscar The Billy Goat, but in all of my research I've not been successful at finding one. I'm sure there's a story of Oscar out there somewhere, I just haven't came across it yet. There are a lot of Oscars out there on the market, so it's hard to tell what's original and what's reproduction. But, I'm leaning toward original on this Oscar as his casting is a nice smooth and tight casting. He's from the 1940's and is quite heavy at 8lbs!! So, Oscar can also double as a doorstop. He stands 7 3/4" tall and 9 1/2" long.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Beautiful billy goat bank, I can picture this guy grazing in a meadow - great animal for your collection Scott!
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! Oscars' beard keeps him from tipping forward, but would also prevent him from grazing:)
