Bones76, I think I should tell you that I'm definitely not an expert.
I'm just trying to provide you with some information to help you identify them.
The easiest test of all is probably the magnetic test. If your coins are attracted to a magnet, then they're not silver.
Even if they're silver, they aren't necessarily genuine antique cob coins. They could be reproductions sold as such in good faith by the original vendor, e.g.:
