1817 / 3 Half Dollar

My dad was a casual coin collector, mostly in his younger days. I'm sure most of his coins were passed down from his earlier relatives and others found in change when he was younger. I never actually seen him buy a coin other than proof sets in the 1960's-1970's. So like I said, mostly handed down through earlier generations. This coin is the earliest legible one he had. I think there was one from the 1700's too but the image and wording is so worn its hard to tell what it actually was. This one however is pretty cool. It's the 1817 Fifty Cent piece that had the 7 struck over the 3. Original patina, fairly good surface details and has the lettered edging. Not officially graded but I assume at least Very Good to Fine, but it doesn't really matter.
