Japanese Gilt lacquered Meiji card case Bought this card case at a boot fair and was wondering if anyone could tell me who the artist is and if anyone can read the signature. The actual piece is really lovely and a steal at £8. If anyone can help I would be greatful

this is not an inro , and this is not an hako ( box ) , this is an card case

      we got it chinkin
      hiramaki e-
      taka-maki e

looks like a sort of hiramaki-e , it is not chinkin i am not an expert but in mine opinion this could be ( late) mejji or probably or early taisho ( panel design) i can,t read kanji so i don,t know the artist

imo it is not the most refined , but it does, not mattere because it always runs, so you did very well , congrats
