Ultimate Soldier 82nd Airborne Division D-Day 1/6 Scale 1999

Special June 6th post for the anniversary of D-Day which happened 78 years ago. Just did the math in my head so I hope that is right.
The figure here is made by 21st Century Toys/Ultimate Soldier in 1999. Same Scale as GI Joe but the quality is higher and a bvit more challenging to put together. Took me about an hour as I freed him from his cardboard and plastic prison. Comes with tons of accessories to clog vacuum cleaners. I do believe this is a lieutenant as he has a sidearm, map case and binoculars. The main weapon is an M1 (possibly an M2) carbine with a folding stock which is a weapon often carried by officers. Although I believe they were carried by more often by paratroopers aka Airbourne troops.
Not sure if jumping out of airplanes was safer than storming the beach in landing crafts. I salute those who had to do either.
