Hello everyone!!
The latest addition to my cast iron pigs is this very large vintage cast iron pig. She’s nicely detailed and quite large and heavy. This one is NOT a bank, but more like a doorstop or decoration to sit on the floor. However, I do have another large cast iron pig , that’s almost as large as this one, that is a bank. I’ll try to post that one later this week.
She’s a two piece design held together with two steel dowel pins. I’m told that she’s from somewhere between 1920-1940 period. I really like her colors and she’s developed a nice patina, though the photos just don't seem to capture her patina well. She measures 20” long, 10” tall and 7” wide. She weighs in at 24lbs!!!!
Thanks for stopping in for look at my large cast iron pig!!!

kwqd,
Thanks friend!! I had some major foot surgery 6 weeks ago, so I keep her far out of the way from my path. I don't need more screws in my foot:)
Penny,
Thanks so very much!! She's a BIG sweetie for sure!!
Sorry to hear about your foot! I hope your recovery is swift and free from iron pigs.
Thanks!! Yes, I'm off crutches, out of the boot and back to my daily 5 mile walk.
Wow that’s a big piggy.
24 Lbs … that’s a lot of bacon
Thanks clockerman!! Yes, she's a BIG one for sure!

Magnificent pig with great natural coloring & beautiful eyes! Glad you're on the mend Scott, we're big walkers too, try to hit the beach boardwalk a couple times a wk weather permitting, it's about 2 mi each way
Jenni,
Thanks so very much!! I was walking 8-10 miles per day and then an issue with my right foot arose. Had to have two bones broken, pulled inward and screwed back together. All better now, but my surgeon is only allowing me no more than 5 miles per day until further notice.

be patient with your feet.... if not cirgury does not work. Looks so sad this pig
Thanks kivatintz! She does look a bit sad. I’m being very careful with my feet as I don’t wish to go they another 2 hour surgery! One the plus side, the pain, I was experiencing before surgery, is now completely gone!!
Scott..you probably have to walk a lot to find all these treasures you post! Heal up fast. And I think when a pig is this big, it's a hog..
Thanks Dave!!! There are some treasures in my neighborhood, but none for my collecting genre. One neighbor collects gas pumps and coffee grinders. He has two buildings full behind his house. And yes, with this pig being the size that she is, she definitely qualifies as a hog:)
She looks like a petunia !~
Thanks Phil! She sure is.

:) Thanks Eileen!! Ya know, it doesn't matter how old we become, we all still love Charlotte's Web. I love the animated movie and Paul Lynde (Templeton the rat) was one of my favorite characters.
