Hello Collectors
Joe here, I just purchase a wood box that has military-style number written on the front.
The box measures: Lenght 5 3/4 inches, Height 3 1/4 inches
The box has one rubber strap on both sides and in the back has two clips and the box open from the top.
If anyone has knowledge of this box can you please share with me and thank you for your time and consideration.

What part of this is wood? The main part of the body looks to me like stiff leather.
The size is a bit small but that curve reminds me of a binoculars case ?
