Manikin
(62 items)
This is a 1940s 28 inch advertising store counter top Manikin /mannequin, She was sculpted and sold by Margit Nilsen for the McCall pattern company . You could buy a small manikin pattern which was also sold in full adult size. She would wear the miniature version saving material due to WWII shortage of fabric .
She is wearing a dress made from a Simplicity pattern which would never have been allowed in McCall section of store.
Margit Nilsen is probably the most famous designer of these smaller mannequins and she has quite a history and sculpted
so many different manikins and often people will attribute one to her when not marked or on a Margit stand, but there were several other companies producing these also . Her's being the most sought after.
I hope you all have a nice summer in USA and to my friends that are in winter now I want you to know it is 100 degree's here ! to hot .
Great post Mani! What a beautiful elegant manikin, her summery dress is lovely
Great to see you posting and pushing the boundaries, Minnie !!!!
Nice one Mani!! She's very lifelike! It's been cooler here in Kentucky than it's been up north, which is crazy! Stay cool up there.
