I bought these little paintings on ebay around 2010. The seller was very mysterious about the identity of the artist, claiming that the artist was a friend, a nationally known artist who was allowing him to sell some of his works on ebay. He went on to say that the artist lived in LA and has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine and American Art Collector and has held many one man shows. I had suspected that the seller was himself painting these in his basement, and eventually I was able to figure out who the artist was based on his style and the clues he provided and his web site.

This was confirmed when the artist absentmindedly included his name (Logan Maxwell Hagege) and return address on the shipping label for some of these paintings The seller and the artist are one and the same, in my opinion, as the description of the artist's background is accurate except that the artist lives in Van Nuys, CA. He is an instructor at the Academy of Figurative Art according to wwww.whitepages.com. As many artists do, he was probably cranking out "daily paintings" to continue to develop his skill and make a little extra cash. Several professional fine artists I have encountered do this, some anonymously and some acknowledging their identity.

I have one more painting from him very clearly in the normal style of this artist, a small mountain landscape. Hagege included that one for free as he had been very slow in shipping the last paintings I bought and had, in fact, lost one of them. A true artist!

Many of his daily paintings were of animals and I always wanted one of his roosters, but either ebayers caught on to his identity or just loved the quality of his work and they soon became hotly contested for. I eventually saw something shiny which distracted my attention and I wandered off to chase other artists before getting my rooster.

Coincidentally, my first sergeant's name at Ft. Ord when I returned from SE Asia was also named Hagege. He was Guamanian but pronounced his name differently.
