Purchased this chess set, complete with board seemingly by same artist, several years ago. To me it evoked one of my favorite modern artists Alberto Giacometti. No markings that I could locate. Welcome comments. Thanks
tough call , i was a chess player myself , had a lot of sets myself , i think you are right
something like 16 inch by 16 inch board
if you see the joints between the squares it , is a genuine board ( genuine vintage)

concerning design sure it is giacometti style, i think its quite rare because they made IMO an fantastic trouvaille to swap the neoclassic design of the castles into something futurisme (very nice )
i don,t know if it 60 or seventies, it got 1 slight disadvantage, the so called sheet over frames are more valuable and are absent, stilistically i prefer yours

lets take the rooks at a1 -h1 -a8-h8 and at any sides of the playing squares are elevated ( raised ) and then you an design strip strip in your case follow trough
there is design inside casing and outside casing
see 1 Dibs and Carlo Bonte ( probably single sheet over) , i don,t know lets say the pseudo bronze pyriet type of frame)

in this case the bishops are horned,
i don,t know accept its is Giacommeti style , an sort of open work
it,s very pleasant that the styling of castles is open work ( don,t know ( Jean Arp inspired MAx Ernst inspired?open work), but i probably talk bs) so you don,t get round shaped and angular pieces they are conguent styled ( classic)
lets take the former Staunton style ( english i believe) they are all curvilineair ( rounded)
and nowadays probably they use the Lorraine style in stead of the (probably English Staunton style , which looks almost the same
the style most be congruent ( the above named are classical style),and the way yours is a very nice and pleasant solution open work, non classical
IMO this is is for decoration purpose, because chessplayers don,t want to be diverted, as far as i know t nowadays they use the Lorraine design ( German then probably not France !)
addendum horned king in the origional
