Got these at a thrift store recently and was wondering what these two pieces were a part of. I believe they were part a display rack that sat in stores. One person told me they might be lids to a cooler chest, or soda fountain. The larger one measures 16” x 10 1/4” and the smaller one is 11 3/4” x 10”. From the slogan I can tell they are from at least 1963, maybe 1965.
I'd guess (only) that you're on the right track with 'display rack signage', only because if they were cooler lids they'd probably have a handle on 'em, and/or a little extra hardware around their edges/ends. 'Soda fountain panels'' could still remain a valid possibility too, FWIW. :-)
