Here we have a rare treat, an unlisted Masonic WWI service medal for a member of Chicago’s Progressive Lodge #954 A.F.+A.M. named to Alexander Young. This medal is unreported in both Small’s and Planck’s WWI local medals books. The medal is signed “F. Whetefield, Chicago. Who as far as I can tell is also unknown in the medal makers field. The medal is gold finished bronze and is suspended as a watch fob from a black ribbon. Any ideas as to the maker?
