    Glass Insulators Lot

Just picked up this large lot of insulators. Just starting to sort, clean and research. Sorry for the crappy pictures. This is in the garage just sorting.

    PIC#1
5 shades of blue. Starts with the left one, just a hint of blue. All the way to dark blue.

    PIC#2
Bottom of the bin, lots of smaller insulators and lots to clean.

    PIC#3
Couple of unusual pieces. I was told that white one has some value to it. More research is needed.

    PIC#4
Some really old and cool stuff. The wall mount has metal holders. (The right insulator has an 1893 patent and the left one only has a star marking.). Got a few wooden spindles... may use those to make a display for the blue ones?

I'll make some detailed posts as I research and examine these further.

I like the double display piece in #4.

Thanks Fort. I've never seen a display like that, it's pretty unique.

That double-hook assembly *is* really cool!! I could see that having been used on either end of a pair of wires strung between, say, a house and a garage? (or barn or whatever) The brown one in pic 3 is also fun (though probably not uncommon?) and would have been used to hook two loops of wire together *without* an actual electrical connection, for instance often seen somewhere along the length of a 'guy-wire' helping hold a pole upright.

Overall, a *way cool* and nicely *varied* collection?!! :-) :-) :-)

Yes, the brown one is a ceramic insulator, a very large one. It has tape on the bottom that says . I think..Canadian 1927 or maybe it was 29? I'll start cleaning them up soon and doing more detailed research. There are several that have markings that I have not seen before.
