Asian rice bowl

This porcelain rice bowl is 4.75" in diameter x 2" high. It appears to be hand painted. There is the remnant of a label on the bottom which reads "in". This bowl is very thin and has a mellifluous ring.

Not sure if it is Japanese or Chinese. The "in" label could be "CHinA" or "MADE in JAPAN". Goodwill find for $.49 so hard to pass up while making a search for a cheap table. BTW, in my area thrift stores are suddenly charging ridiculous prices for crappy used furniture. I finally settled on an old 1960s school desk instead of a formal table for $9.99.
