When you think of the modelmaker "Cox", you probably don't think of trains. The company was much more widely recognized for slot cars, and downright famous for wire and radio controlled models, both electric and engine powered. For a very few years, the company entered the model railroad line of products. The ones that I've owned, and actually run, were excellent quality, and are still good runners, and pullers. But, they were a late entry, into an already tight, and very competitive market. After quitting the field, their dies went to other makers. One of which was the chopped nose version of the GP 9, which is now the "GP9M", made by Modelpower.
