Does anyone know anything about this GLAZE? I found just ONE OTHER example, a 3 Gallon crock currently for sale on Etsy; seller calls the glaze "moons" or "leopard spots" but she had no further information on its history or any reference materials. I'd like to determine if this is a UNIQUE glaze specific to Ohio (Illinois? as that seller states) and if it is a "known" glaze attributed to and associated with stoneware crocks from this region after 1860 (when the cylindrical form replaced ovoid). I'm not not a stoneware or crocks collector, just intrigued ... so I'm hoping you experts on crocks, stoneware etc can educate me on this item. Purchased in Columbus Ohio recently. THANKS!!!
