I thought this Anton Pieck Artwork decoupage wood purse was a nice find at the Flea Market on Sunday August 14th, 2022. It sounds like these were made from Decoupage Kits in the 1970's, but I had never seen one before, and it looks very well made, I like the Brass fittings, and ball feet! As it turned out looks like I got it for a good price too! :^D
Here's a link for a similar one on an Etsy Post, that I add in Comments!

These were very popular in the ‘70s. The bare wood boxes were available in craft stores along with all sorts of handles, latches and feet.
Linings, trims, mirrors , papers with pretty prints, ModPodge, etc ….whatever your imagination lead you to incorporate into your unique purse.
My mom and I made several although I do not know what became of them after the fad wore off. I wish I still had them!
I can tell you, thought, they were cumbersome to carry and rather heavy after adding all the things ladies carry around.
Beautiful artwork on this purse and lovely interior, nice find
Thanks Patricia, I think that it would be better as a dresser top box for nail polish and the like, now days it wouldn't be big enough for a phone, and you couldn't just hang it on a chair or drop it to the floor! :^D One of my sisters, did some decoupage things in the mid 60's, Cards and pressed dried Flowers, never this fancy! Bill :^)
