This was a super find on eBay AU that arrived today.
From the photos, I initially thought this had a martele style decor, but in real life it is much more raised & angular in texture, more like a webbed pattern. Even honeycomb doesn't seem the correct description for this decor. It has a fascinating texture!
The vase is made from a single layer of purple glass with a raised, webbed texture. The iridescence is very intense, most likely due to the textured effect creating abundant surface area for light refraction from many angles.
Measures just over 18 cm tall, with a cut top rim.
This has got to be of Bohemian origin circa 1900 or so but I'm uncertain of a maker...maybe Kralik?

Myself I'd still call it martelé, even though the pattern is very high relief. A newly made mould might be the reason for that, or not! I like martelé and privately have always thought of my examples as reverse crazy paving!

Does anyone else re name décors?

Wow! What iridescence! It is really a beauty, Marin. I agree with Peggy that I'd call it martelé, and I'd probably also go with Kralik on this one. :)

Peggy, many thanks & I really enjoy your term "reverse crazy paving"!
I do have some personal decor names & I think I'll call this one "irregular fishnet"...or maybe "random reticule"... :-)

      Thanks also, Michelle!
Yes, the iridescence on this is magical, so intense. Very pleased to have won it with no competition, as I thought there would be a full on bidding war...
