Primitive Clay Water Jug w/ Turtle on Top

Any information on this piece would be welcomed. It is a primitive clay vessel that comes from an estate sale many years ago.
Has what looks like a turtle or some other animal on top that the legs are the handles and it may have hug or sat on something because the bottom is rounded.
