Found this at a vintage toy shop near the Torrance Street Fair. It is Playing Mantis Captain Action figure wearing a vintage Captain Action Flash Gordon disguise. Captain Action could dress as several super heroes or other such characters and each costume was called a disguise. This one is Flash Gordon which fits in well as Captain Action is a bit Art Deco. The figure was missing the boots and a couple other small pieces but I took those from the Playing Mantis 1990s remake as seen in figure 3. I gave the other Flash Gordon some pieces from my GI Joe spare parts and Captain Action spare parts so it is all good now. Plus there was a missing part I found after I took the photos. Both of the figures are Playing Mantis remake from the 90s. Original Captain Action figures are expencive and many people including me bought the remakes to use for the vintage disguises. How to tell the diffence between an original outfit and a remake? Velcro. The originals have snaps.
