the back side reads nihon - nippon -japan
people call this an phenix - flower . IMO thats is a mistake
IMO it is a HO-HO-ZARA----- KARAKUSA --- KIRI
ho- HO ZARA = HO BIRD
what is a ho bird , this is an non existing bird, fusion between duck, pheasent, peacock and so on
karakusa = tendrils = swirling of the peony of peas tendrils
what is the flower in the middle , probably the antroposofical part
the flower is a kiri or een kiku, =chrysantium or paulownia
its almost mandatory to be a paulownia, because the empress liked paulownia
plates are faked very often ,so i have to guuess around 1930 maybe
the story is right but the date could be later , i cant run thousand of them sorry
could also be a vine karakusa i see
