I have four mill stones from my grandpa’s farm. There is a grist mill on the farm it’s still operating on occasion. These stones in the photos won’t fit the mill. I’m not sure what to do with them , they have been left to me. However if I don’t move them they will go with the house lot my sister is selling. Are they worth my time to move them? I’m not sure how to move them either as I’m sure they weigh a lot. Anyone have any idea of the collectibility of them? Thanks for any opinions y’all may have. Thanks, Brad
They can be worth some money depending on history, type etc. Advertise them locally and let the buyer figure out how to move them. Maybe some 4 x 4s and a flat bed tow truck? Or a tractor and big flat bed?
I’d keep them with the mill. If the mill is away from the house/ separate lot, I’d get some help and move them to that location.

Years ago I read of a guy who installed a small hydroelectric system on his farm. Since electricity was basically now for free he mounted a heating element under an old millstone, put some legs on it and turned it into a heated coffee table in his lounge.
Very cunning!
They make interesting landscaping features so there are plenty of people who would use them, including myself.
