This bottle is about 4.25" high x 3.5" unground diameter x 3.25" flat sides diameter. Ground flat on four sides and the bottom and polished. Very little wear. No wear or grinding in the neck as the stopper had a plastic sleeve. Red and amber sommerso. Outer layer is clear glass. Very heavy, about 3.5 bs. My images do not do a great job of catching the amber sommerso. The clear glass actually looks amber until taking a closer look. No idea of who/when/where this was made. Paid $7 for this and the other perfume bottle I found today. This style and the other piece I found are quite common on ebay.

Guessing both of these were part of some U.S. product line (Fifth Avenue?) which required producing these bottles in relatively large quantities. They look a bit too nice to be Chinese but I think they are. Glad I do not collect Murano glass as the Chinese have become quite adept at copying it. No idea how they were able to produce these in apparently large quantities.

    Update:

These bottles were imported in 2004 by Jay Companies under their 5th Avenue brand. Some of these have survived with the original packing intact, which contained a URL to the company web site and other information. Chinese maker not known.

Thanks sherrilou, blunderbuss2, Kevin, Blammoammo and dav2no1!

I think I will try redoing my photos against a white background as the color separation is not too good against a black background.

I think these were made in China but they are good glass.
I never dis Chinese glass until I see it and handle it. There are some excellent glass makers there, they make glass to the standard as requested by the West, and they have been making glass for a long time.
I have always like these pieces.

No worries! Probably are birds in there, maybe a cat or two hunting them, too!
