Old armchair ! Bit battered is it worth me getting it fixed, cleaned up, polished?

I have picked up an old armchair that has a bit of wear and tear, certainly been a bit bashed about but it really looks quite old and the fish head with tail is so unusual!

Any info about this item would be most appreciated!
