This was a nice find on eBay AU, a Victorian spatter glass vase in the unmistakable style of Welz.
It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over a spatter of oxblood red, brown, orange, & green aventurine, with a white interior.
It measures 20 cm tall, 2.5 cm across the neatly polished top rim, & 9 cm across the clear applied crimped circular base. There is also a clear crimped applied rigaree.
In perfect condition.
The seller's photos didn't show up the green aventurine so it was a nice surprise!
Classic Welz, Marin. I've always liked that hobnailed, frilly foot. I even liked it when teamed with a thorn vase! Truly you never know what you'll find with Welz, but that's the fun.
Beautiful piece, it's so nice when you see one of these without any bits missing.
Oooooooo-La-La....... Stunning !!!
Beautiful Welz!!

Many thanks, Peggy! Yes, that foot is super...& I agree with your sentiments on the fact that you'll never know what you might find in Welz glass...it's both fun to discover & to look at. Their designs have a unique ability to put a smile on one's face - always quirky & eccentric...
Thanks also, Bernard!
Absolutely I agree that it's great to find a piece like this in perfect condition...I have another item with the same frilly foot which sadly was broken & repaired...still looks nice though...
Much appreciated, antiquerose!
It's definitely fancy & fanciful!
Thanks also, Scott!
Cool Welz.
Let's not leave anything alone until it's got as much as possible.
Love it.
Many thanks, Karen!
I really admire how Welz consistently pulled out all the stops with their glass...way over the top is where it's at! :-)
I love the frilled Welz pieces! I had a pair of candlesticks with the same frills. This is so pretty with the spiral, too - a terrific piece, Marin! :)
Thanks so much, Michelle!
This makes me think of a Rainbow Eucalyptus tree in all it’s glory and, somehow improbably, adorned with ice.
Sounds fabulous, Patricia!
