Found this today in a local antiques centre for a reasonable price...it's giving me some early Loetz vibes but I'm not 100% certain. The colour is intense & unusual.
The vase is made from cased glass, a spreading ultramarine blue over a white interior. It measures 15 cm tall, 6 cm across the top rim, 11.5 cm handle to handle, & 5 cm across the base, which has a slight pontil mark.
There are two clear (with gilding) applied handles & the vase features enamel & gilded decoration of leaves & tiny flowers (looks like wisteria). The gilding is worn in places.
Pretty sure it is Bohemian, late 19th century. Maybe early Loetz or Harrach?
Beautiful piece, love the blue!
Many thanks, Bernard! This colour really caught my eye, it's not one you often see in cased glass...
so simple and so nice
Have to admit when I first saw it I thought Loetz too…but possibly Harrach also..not sure…just love the blue..great find..
Thanks so much, kivatinitz!
Thanks also, Penny!
If I was a poet I would say something about stars in the night sky, but I’m not.
Thanks so much, Karen, that's so beautiful!
