Here are some examples of the classic HO Scale Varney Streamliners. I started building and or restoring these 1940 era models back in 2013. Once I finished the first one I was what you say "hooked". So, over the years as I stumbled on kits or ones that were built but needing help, I would acquire them. So far 5 have been completed and the 6th nearing completion. These were freelance models with no real prototype and were certainly "cool" for the kids growing up in the 40's and 50's seeing similar real locomotives running on the railroads at the time. These models were produced without tenders so you had to add an appropriate one. Later Varney did produce a Streamlined tender kit to go with the Locomotive and these are now very rare and hard to come by. So current modelers can add whatever they wish. Most of these are either scratch built tenders or modified models and in two cases, brass import tenders were used to mate with the locomotive. These have all found new homes in other collectors collections. I'm still finishing up the current project of the Baltimore and Ohio replica. My favorite of the 6? Either the highly modified Frisco Firefly or Baltimore and Ohio versions. I still have an untouched kit in the original boxes and package carton. No need to touch that one while there are other models out there needing help.
Super ultra mega cool.
Amazing models, i never saw this ones here in Europe
