After a four month hiatus, my favourite monthly antiques fair returned today!
I picked up this nice Welz vase so it was worth the four hour round trip...
The vase is an example of the honeycomb spatter in a shape I haven't seen this decor in before. It measures around 20.5 cm tall, 3 cm across the top rim, & 7 cm across the base. Made from three layers of cased glass - clear over multicoloured spatter, with a white interior, it also features clear applied decoration of an acanthus leaf which turns into a small handle.
The four sided shape with an integrally footed base is one I've seen in other colours but not in this honeycomb spatter, & especially not with the applied decoration.
Well done, Marin !!!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
Congratulations on your acquisition of this interesting shape.
Always room fore more welz!!

Glad you got to Wenty Marin and found such a rarity.
Sorry I missed it and you .
Thanks so much, Scott - & yes, there's always more room for more Welz in my life!
Thanks also, Karen!
Maybe we can catch up next month...
