That little girl is warming her hands in a white fur muff very much like mine in the mid 1950s!
Mine, probably made of rabbit fur, had a fox-like face with small glass eyes and a leathery black nose. That thing was SO warm!
I loved it so much that, here in my “more mature” years, I treated myself to a new one, minus the animal face. :^D
