Hello, one more question.
This table and chair were found in the attic of the home we live in, and hasn't been lived in a few years. The house was built in 1698 and we live in Rhode Island.
Is this chair a Hepplewhite chair? Does it appear to be made in the 1800s? How about the desk? Someone once said maybe it's a federalist desk, but I'm wondering if it is a replica. The history shows a colonel, a judge and a governor of this state lived in this home. The house apparently was converted from a colonial to a Georgian style home, if any of these details help.
Thanks in advance! Mary
Don't believe any of your furniture is older than 1930's thru 50's
What is know as Depression furniture. I may be wrong but that's what I think.
@yougottahavestuff, still an interesting find, thanks!
It's better than the furniture they make today!! They put the new stuff out on the sidewalk for free and after a rain it melts into the sidewalk. In my opinion!!
Absolutely!
Did you inspect under the chair, table and bottoms of drawers for a label?
Concur with stuff’s assessment. Chair is probably 2nd quarter, 20th century. Desk a little later and from the 50s.

No writing under the chair, nor the table, thanks!
