?Vintage S&M Navy spotlight?
We have been looking for over a year to find one like it. Not sure if it came off a warship or what?
Very heavy. About 3” tall.

Anything that is military would be heavily marked as such. The base does not look like a ship mount.

The American History museum hold a collection of their catalogs. I suggest contacting the research department and asking them to look up your model number.

Some more searching..I saw one spotlight with a similar base from a different company that claimed to be from a ship. But several with a similar base claimed to be fire/police search lights.
The FD in the catalog number may be fire department? That would seem to make sense?
Quite rare to find one of these beauties out there !~
Their 110-125V rating would make me wonder if they were for police/fire usage, which I'd guess would be 6-12V(DC) if so? I do think I've seen similar fixtures meant for theatre/stage lighting, though??
