Hello everyone!!
I found this treasure while off during Thanksgiving holiday. It's an antique cold painted bronze tiger on the prowl. It's was most likely made by Franz Bergman in Austria sometime around the 1890's. Though unmarked, it was common in the late 1800's for Bergman not to put a hallmark on his pieces, that mostly began in the early 1900's. This one was incredibly dirty when I got her and the colors never showed up until I cleaned her and gave a couple coats of transparent wax to protect the finish from deteriorating any further.
She's lost her stripes during her 120 plus years of life, but still a beautiful specimen. The detail that was put into this piece is just remarkable. The teeth are even finely detailed. I can only imagine how regal this piece looked when it was first produced. This one measures 5 3/8" long, 1 1/2" tall and weighs 11.5oz.
Thanks to you all for stopping in for a look!!

Thanks Dave!!! You should see what this fellow looked like when I found him. His colors did not show at all. Took quite a bit of cleaning to get him looking this good.

Fantastic antique bronze tiger, so fierce with that super roaring face
Phil,
Thanks very much!! I feel very fortunate to have been the lucky one to find this.
Jenni,
Thank you!! A fierce one indeed! I only wish it didn't have so much paint loss. And if it were the 9" long version ($$$$) I'd be extremely happy:)
