What a wonderful snag, of a likewise wonderful piece.

As to its woods, you've definitely got a mix, probably veneers, that's not a bad thing. Teak was a popular Danish MCM one, which strikes me as your drawerfronts at first glance, but definitely not for its top or cabinet door. Mahogany (from various planetary sources) was likely the other most common wood that I'd guess for those -- oak, by the MCM rules, was decidedly out of fashion then. Maple also got popular in the 50's, though usually finished in much lighter shades. Rosewood might even be a possibility for the top/door, its general inherent natural color (and grain pattern) more matches, in my mind, than the mahogany. Hope this helps a little?! :-)
