Decorated copper sheet on slate tile, 1985

This slate tile is 10" x 8", the copper sheet is 7.5" x 5.5". A design has been hammered into it and it is signed, dated and numbered. The signature is "J. Stanley Schoen 1985 XXII".

A quick check showed no data for this artist. No idea what the Roman numerals stand for. Will try to find out more about this artist after doing some chores (a nap).

Later (yawn)..... As far as I can tell, this artist was from Pittsburg, PA and relocated to Steamboat Springs, CO where he operated an art and design business from 2002-2006. He is mentioned in conjunction with several (interior?) design businesses afterwards. My guess is that he started out as an artist and later became an interior designer. Public records suggest that he would be over 80 years old now. So this piece dated 1985 would be late for it to be a student work by him, so is probably representative of his work as an artist.
