Old Wooden Canes/Walking Sticks
Here's a couple old wooden canes I have had for awhile. You may have seen the one in the background of some of my garage pictures. And you definitely will see it again in an upcoming post.
The first is a rounded handle cane that was given to me by a friend. I think it was my 40th birthday at the time and he thought it'd be funny to give me an old man cane. But he also knew I collected old stuff too. These type of handles were made by steaming the wood and forming it, usually around a template or bench dogs.
The second cane I bought at an estate sale? It's made from a tree branch. It's the perfect shape and exactly 3 ft high.

These are all fantastic!! I especially love the waling stick in the last pic. Never seen one like it until now.
Nice! I also collect canes, walking sticks and staffs. I started doing so after using a cane to hike after knee surgery in 1991. It is amazing how much a good cane or walking staff complements walking or hiking. I, generally, only add sticks that fit my stature, but occasionally collect others that interest me. Farm & Fleet sells a very nice burnt bent oak cane. Glad I picked up several when they were only $7. Now they sell for $15! . Fairly heavy, they are great for maintaining wrist strength, self defense and walking/hiking. I have numerous light canes and staffs for long hikes, but usually carry an F&F cane or oak staff for day hikes.
