This vase is something special to start the new year. A big year for me, & a year of change. What better way to mark the occasion?
Several months ago I was offered the opportunity to purchase a similar vase within Australia, however, the asking price was going to be far too high for me. So when this one turned up on eBay a few weeks ago, I decided to go for it. And even though it was located in the USA, which means I face an unfavorable exchange rate, GST, & high postage costs, it still worked out a LOT less than the one I was offered locally.
This vase looks black but is made from very dark ruby red glass, with an intensely iridescent crackle exterior. It measures 20 cm tall, 4.7 across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base. In perfect condition.
Made by Rindskopf, circa 1900.
I hope to be able to later get a good photo of the dark red interior, it was too dark & rainy today.
Hi IronLace this one is very similar to mine

I thought that they are Kralik because there is one post here in CW

and yes the red color when you can observe the interior is so beautiful
Many thanks, kivatinitz - that pair you have are so beautiful, it's a stunning decor.
I'm pretty sure mine is Rindskopf, the shape looks right to be of their production.
This lovely vase in Michelle's collection is similar to mine, with just a slight variation in shape:
