1926 championship ring for St Louis Cardinals. This has a red stone instead of a clear one that was issued to players and it also has "sample" stamped on the inside. Any info ?

Where did you get it ?

My great uncle worked in Attleboro MA and I believe it was at the jewelry company. He had the ring in a jewelry bag for 40 years and then gave it me. He passed a d I don't have any family left on that side to ask about where he may have gotten it.
