This is a liquor set made in the Art Nouveau style by the German manufacturer WMF (Württembergische Metallwaren Fabrik) circa 1900-1910. The jug and cups are made from pewter and they sit on a brass tray.
Point of interest - During WWI, WMF were responsible for producing arms for the German military and had certified to the Allies after the war that the tools used to produce these arms were destroyed. However, after Hitler's call for rearmament the company immediately began to produce weapons again. WMF also founded their own labour camp in 1944 to detain the 900 Hungarian Jewish women forced to work for them.
Today the company has acquired several other brands and makes mainly kitchen items and small appliances.
Nice pieces and great history, thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of some of the shell work by soldiers but this factory work here is all too seldom seen, a super treat to see !~
