Found this in a pile of an old warehouse that someone had hoarded all manner of things in. Looking for advice on restoring and for any info someone may have as far as age and maker. From my limited ability, I am guesstimating that it is from 1880-1900. Could find no markings other than the patent date for the front clasp, July 9th, 1872. Also noticed the copper color on the side but from what I've read they were never made with copper. Is it maybe a cooper lined tin? Would appreciate input from those of you with a bit more knowledge and know how.
Welcome to CW! There are a couple of "trunk guys" on the forum who will probably give you some help. If no one comments, soon, just search for "trunk" and find one who has posted fairly recently and comment in their post that you are seeking guidance. Cheers!
Looks like trunkman has posted fairly recently...

Some patents and catalog info that may shed some light.

The links that I shared above are from Marvin Miller at this old trunk.
Thank you Drill, much appreciated.
