Picked 2 of these up this weekend at local thrift store, believe it is Japanese, don't know anything about age, etc.

I'm not a specialist but could this be Mitsumine Minoyaki (Mino Ware)
    2. apostata apostata, 2 years ago
of course mp kunst did an excellent job about the assesment,i a am also not an expert on japanese porcelain

the point is the kanji means probably 3 peaks, it is all about translating sanpo = 3( the 3 stacked bars)

so some experts intrapoleren Mitsume into Sanpo Toen because of the project of the Sanpo factory IMO this is farfetched ( the factory is not so known for japanese porcelain) i prefer the reference of cultural heritage ( mount mitsume + shrine = more logical) in stead of an vague industrial project

so the jury is out But who am i

Wow, that is something special to have picked up at a garage sale, I love the art work and you sure know how to pick them !~

Thanks everyone for feedback, and loves! I didn't get these at garage sale, however, was a local goodwill for 3.99 for the pair, so a excellent bargain regardless, my new pasta bowls, haha!
