I purchased this Victorian art glass vase last April, but only a few days ago did I find out that it has a uranium content!
Usually I test anything that looks like it has potential, but this slipped through due to not showing any obvious signs of uranium. The dead white interior didn't suggest any UV action.
Anyway, while testing something else, I randomly shone the torch around the room, & this vase LIT UP!
Adds an extra aspect of interest to this elegant piece of Bohemian art glass.
I wouldn't think it might be UV either!
Many thanks, Ivonne!
I've encountered a few other pink vases with a UV reactive interior but usually they have a "custard" colour which gives it away. I'm still wondering about who made this vase, I've speculated it might be an early Loetz piece, but still not sure...
Wow what a surprise— ultraviolet great piece
By the looks I wouldn't have suspected that either. Great bonus surprise!
Thanks so much, Vynil33rpm!
