I have this Cotti painting I've carried around with me since selling the house that this came with. Something about the painting intrigued me. When I bought the house back in 2004, she left several paintings and this is one I decided to keep. I've since read some about Cotti but can't identify the name of this painting and who it's of.
I’m not sure, but I believe Dalí made a similar painting of his wife - I believe it’s about candaulism
That's interesting. I'm wondering how I can find this information and have a "name" for the painting.
interesting but how do you know it is not compersion
I'm not sure what you mean by compersion. Do you mean if it's not an original? I have been researching for an expert not too far to verify but the elderly lady I purchased the house from long ago had a lot of art and many of them were originals. It's not a print and it is an oil painting.
compersion "differs from candaulism in that compersion does not specifically refer to joy regarding the sexual activity of one's partner, but refers instead to joy at the relationship with another romantic and/or sexual partner
